Telugu film directors moot exclusive theatre for screening children films

Hyderabad,Nov 16:Prominent Telugu film directors on Monday suggested better patronization by the ruling dispensations for the children film movement in their respective States.Popular film directors like Relangi Narasimha Rao,S V Krishna Reddy and actor-cum-director Ashok Kumar strongly felt that the patronization presently available for children’s film movement is not enough.Addressing a media conference here on Monday as part of the ongoing 16 th International Children Film Festival (ICFF) they said that children should be encouraged to become partners in the process of making films which are made for them.
“One should not count the chicken even before the eggs are laid,“said popular director S V Krishna Reddy. He said children should be encouraged in the art of film making,storytelling and script writing so that they could give a shape to their thoughts and sentiments.Krishna Reddy,who made the blockbuster “Rajendrudu Gajendrudu” focused on an elephant, said children should be encouraged to make films in the cheapest route of using the mobile cameras and laptops for film-making.“ The same films could be exhibited on mobile circuits and U-tube for saving costs and also addressing the teenage crowds,” he explained.
Relangi Narasimha Rao,the director of big Box Office hits like “Ammo Bomma” and other sensational comedy hits opined that theatres should be set up at prominent towns in the State exclusively for screening children’s films to encourage children’s film-makers. He said that children films should be exploited as the channels for infusing social and economic reforms “Children films are the best media for exposing the society to the campaign against social evils,” he said.
