Kangana Emergency courts another trouble. Kangana Ranaut came with a film titled Emergency and she turned director for the project. The film even before the release landed in various controversies and CBFC cleared the film for viewing after suggesting numerous cuts.
Now, once again the film courted trouble. It is known that Emergency is inspired by 2015 book 'The Emergency: A Personal History', published by Penguin which is authored by Coomi Kapoor.
She alleged that Kangana and the makers distorted the facts and indulged in breach of contract. She said my daughter is a lawyer, so on her advice, I included two clauses. While the producers had full artistic freedom to create the film, nothing should be altered that contradicts historical facts that are publicly available,” Kapoor explained.
“The contract also stated that the author’s name and book could not be used for promoting or exploiting the film without prior written consent. I was in Goa and had not seen the film at the time, believing that they would honour the contract. But they are still claiming that the film is based on the book,”
It has to be seen how Kangana will react to these allegations.
