Under the banner of the prestigious production house Sri Devi Movies, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad has produced the film ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’, directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti. Priyadarshi and Rupa Koduvayur play the lead roles. The film is set to release on April 25. On this occasion, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad spoke to the media. Here are the highlights of what he shared:

All-round entertainer with Indraganti’s touch:

‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ has all the commercial ingredients – action, suspense, thriller, comedy, love – everything. I was very excited when Indraganti narrated the story. It’s the kind of film that will make the audience laugh freely in theatres. My desire to make a full-length comedy film has been fulfilled with this one. I used to regret not making a complete entertainer with Jandhyala garu, but now that gap has been filled.

• Some movies stay with the audience forever – ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ will be one such film that remains in people’s memories for a long time.

Third success with Indraganti after Gentleman and Sammohanam:

• After Gentleman and Sammohanam, this film will be a hat-trick hit in our combination. Mohanakrishna’s story and screenplay will captivate everyone. It will appeal to both families and the youth. The movie has shaped up really well. We worked very hard on it. We delayed a bit hoping to get good theatres and a good season. Now that the summer holidays have started, we’re releasing it on April 25 – perfect timing to share joy with audiences during the holidays.

About the film’s content:

• We have already shown the film to many people, and all of them said it was excellent. The first half is full of comedy, and the second half shifts to the next level. The story revolves around a horoscope (Jathakam) – it’s intriguing and suspenseful. That said, it’s not overly unpredictable or complicated. It’s entertaining in a way that everyone can enjoy.

• All characters are integral to the story – not inserted forcibly. Every role is important. Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, Naresh garu, Avasarala Srinivas – all of them deliver brilliant comedy.

Priyadarshi’s performance:

• After hearing the story, we felt that Darshi (Priyadarshi) would be perfect for the role. Now with the success of Court, his image has risen even further. In Court, he was seen in a serious role, but here he will make everyone laugh out loud. He has done full justice to this role.

Indraganti’s signature touch:

• Whether it’s a love story like Sammohanam, or a suspense thriller like Gentleman, or pure comedy – everyone knows the unique Indraganti mark. His comedy timing in this film is at the next level. This will be a complete paisa vasool (value-for-money) entertainer.

On industry trends and passion for storytelling:

• Earlier, we used to complete a film in 3 months and move on to the next with a different hero. But now, actors line up 4-5 projects and everything revolves around combinations. No one cares about stories anymore. I, however, have a lot of passion for cinema. That’s why, whether it’s Aditya 369, Gentleman, Sammohanam, or Yashoda, I always aim to bring my personal mark to every film.

• The production values in Sarangapani Jathakam are something everyone is praising.

Grand Release Plans:

• We wanted the film to reflect today’s trends – a blend of Jandhyala’s humor, EVV’s style, and Indraganti’s mark. We wanted it to be relatable, entertaining, and accessible to all. Initially planned for April 18, we moved it to April 25 due to theatre availability. The film will have a grand release in over 220 theatres overseas as well.

Upcoming Projects:

• We are currently discussing a few stories. Honestly, I’m scared of sequels, so I usually avoid them. But if Balakrishna garu starts work on Aditya 369 sequel, I’ll be part of it. I really liked two stories narrated by the Yashoda directors. One story by Pavan Sadineni also seemed very interesting. I’ll be doing another film with Mohanakrishna Indraganti too. Once everything is finalized, I’ll officially announce all the upcoming projects.
