Malayalam film Officer On Duty is releasing in Telugu on Holi day, one week after its release in Malayalam. The film in Malayalam has emerged as the highest grosser in 2025 touching 50 crores gross already. Officer On Duty story is all about a cop who faces troubles in his profession and at the same time gets entangled a life threatening case and how he deals with these adverse developments.

Hot-headed CI Harish Shankar (Kunchako Boban) faces problems in his professional life due to his attitude. He returns back to assume duty after the traumatic past but his return is loaded with even more surprises.

Kunchako Boban comes up with an intense performance in the role of a police officer. He looked fit as the cop with his physique and also showed subtle expressions and emotions to thrill the viewers. He delivered dialogues to create a strong impact with his performance.

Vishak Nair looked menacing on the screen in the role of the antagonist. All the other gang members also with their expressions and body language recreated the eerie feeling on the screen. Priyamani did well in the role of the protagonist's wife. She emoted well showing the concerns of a mom.

Officer On Duty story penned by director Jithu Ashraf is a crime thriller that delves into the realities of underworld, mafia and drugs. The screenplay is readied by Nayattu (Remade as Kotabommali Policestation In Telugu) fame Shahi Kabir and it balanced the realistic operations in the underworld and also chilling nature and mindset of the dreaded gangs. He highlighted it with the gripping action and intense elements.

Jithu Ashraf creates interest by starting the narration showing how a routine case turns into a dreaded and life threatening one as the investigation progresses. But for all the positives, the film depicts excessive violence in a brutal manner. While the first half has interesting and exciting elements, as it progresses, pace slows down with routine elements seeping in. 

The second half is loaded with action elements. The racy screenplay ensured that the viewers will not get time to ponder over too much action. For all the intensity, one gets a feeling that the film ended in a hurried manner.

The editing of Chaman Chacko is sharp and ensured that there are not many lags in the narration. Roby Varghese Raj with his cinematography showed the underground scenes in a authentic manner. He used the color and other components and camera angles to perfection. The background music of Jakes Bejoy ensured that the fear psychosis and the scary nature in the story is taken to new heights.

Dialogues are powerful and intense and production values are good.

Altogether, Officer On Duty turns out to be an action loaded racy cop thriller. Kunchako Boban came up with spirited performance to power the film to new heights and director Jithu Ashraf tried his best to ensure gripping, interesting elements with few twists and turns to increase the curiosity levels. A little fine-tuning of the script would have created a more powerful impact. However, Barring some predictability, Officer On Duty offers an intriguing thriller experience with its racy screenplay. Considering all thes aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.75 rating for Officer on Duty.
