HC seeks CBFC status on RGV Vyooham. On Friday, the Telangana High Court issued directives to the counsel representing the Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) to provide an update on the status of granting a certificate to the film 'Vyooham.'
Justice Surepalli Nanda presided over a petition filed by the filmmakers challenging the CBFC's decision not to certify the movie due to the enforcement of the election code of conduct in Telangana.
Senior counsel S. Niranjan Reddy, representing the producer, argued that the certification process should not be delayed solely because of the ongoing elections. Any such decision, he contended, falls under the purview of the Election Commission.
Additionally, the senior counsel sought a court directive to the CBFC, urging them to conduct a review and issue the certificate within a stipulated timeframe.
The standing counsel requested some time to obtain instructions from the CBFC regarding the current status of the certification process. Consequently, the court adjourned the matter to November 28.
