800 is an emotional biopic: Makers at pre-release event

Sri Lankan Cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran's biopic is titled 800. Starring Madhur Mithal and Mahima Nambiar under the direction of MS Sripathy, the film will be released on 6 October 2023. The all-India rights to the movie have found their home with Tollywood producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, the visionary behind Sridevi Movies.

The biopic's pre-release event today was exciting. Chief guest VVS Laxman heaped praises on Muralidaran, who has been his long-time friend. "Murali's strike rate was unbelievable across formats by the time I played my first match against him. He failed to score a wicket even after bowling five overs. He came to me and asked me why he was unable to score a wicket. I told him he had already got so many wickets in his career. Irrespective of which type of match it was, Muralidaran was ambitious. He was a terrific match-winner," Laxman said.

Muralidaran said that Laxman is extremely punctual. "He is very disciplined. Not many people are as disciplined. Even for informal parties, he is on time," the Sri Lankan bowler said.

Sivalenka Krishna Prasad spoke about director Sripathy's talent and his association with him. He said that '800' is an emotional biopic.   

The film has music by Ghibran of 'Saaho' fame.
