Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, including the IPL. The move comes after Rayudu who was in the stand-by list for the World Cup was snubbed by the Indian team management.
Ambati Rayudu was not picked in India's 15-member squad for the World Cup 2019 and then was ignored twice when Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal were sent to England as replacements for the injured Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar.
After he was ignored in the 15-member World Cup squad, Rayudu posted a cheeky tweet that was directed to the selectors. “Just Ordered a new set of 3d glasses to watch the world cup.”
In 55 ODIs, Rayudu scored 1694 runs with three centuries and 10 half-centuries at an average of 47.05. In the six T20Is he played, the middle-order batsman scored 42 runs. Rayudu never got a chance to represent India in Test cricket.
Obviously, when he wasn't picked to play in the World Cup, even after two injuries, Rayudu who apparently is frustrated with the recent developments has decided he didn't want to play international cricket any more.
Recently, Yuvraj Singh also announced retirement. But, Rayudu's decision has come out as a big shocker for cricket fans.
