Hyderabad,Nov 30: Thousands of commuters, office-goers were put to untold hardship on Monday after Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation authorities decided to suspend its city and suburban services in view of the Telangana bandh called in protest against the arrest of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Sunday morning.Many commuters were seen waiting for Buses at city junctions and were seen frantically seeking a lift from unknown two-wheeler riders and four-wheel owners.Taking advantage of the situation, auto-drivers were charging exorbitant prices from commuters.People of all classes voluntarily supported the bandh in the Telangana districts.The bandh in Warangal,Kareemnagar,Medak and Adilabad districts was by and large peaceful.

The police arrested a few leaders and activists in front of Nizamabad bus depot while they were trying to organize a rally Although all the shops, business establishments,schools and colleges in the city and outskirts were closed,sick people had to visit to hospitals. Autowallahs had a good time to fleece from commuters in distress. However,busy areas like Koti in the city wore a deserted look.Owners of vehicles had a harrowing time as they could not buy fuel for their vehicles after all the petrol and diesel bunks were forcibly closed down by Telangana bandh activists.Bandh was also observed in Singareni.Some TRS activists organized a rail-roko at Othelu in Kareemnagar district.The activists also ensured that no Buses came out of RTC depots. However,a few SETWIN Buses ran to capacity with police protection.Buses also stopped operating in Tanduru, Parigi and adjoining areas in Ranagareddy district.
