Ranbir Kapoor To Star In Aamir Khan Production

Any language is not a barrier for universal emotions. That is the reason why a French film which is made in Telugu as Oopiri got connected with the audience and scored a superhit. Now, Aamir Khan is remaking a Spanish film. Aamir Khan announced that his next film after Laal Singh Chaddha will be a remake of a Spanish film ‘Campeons’ which will be directed by RS Prasanna. Aamir was quite impressed with him and was very keen to work with him. 

Campeones is a Spanish word which translates to Champions in English released in 2018. The film is based on Valentina Special Olympics and about a basketball team named Aderes took part in it. But after Laal Singh Chaddha failed, the actor stepped out of the film as an actor and remained available as a producer. He then passed it to Salman Khan and now it seems that the film might lock its lead with Ranbir Kapoor.

Salman stepped out of the project due to clash of call sheets and now Ranbir replaced him in the film. Aamir even met Ranbir and pitched the idea. Ranbir reportedly liked the script very much. Moreover, RK is a football enthusiast and Campeones is about an assistant basketball team coach who brings together a team of disabled basketball players.

Interestingly it is not the first time Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan are coming together. They were rumoured to be cast together in a Rajkumar Hirani film. It was also rumoured that after Aamir Khan stepped in for Gulshan Kumar’s biopic Moghul as a producer he wanted Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead. However, the film did not materialise.
