Controversies that rocked Tollywood in 2022

Tollywood made headlines not only by coming up with pan India projects, it also had its share of controversies. Mahesh Babu is known for his uncontroversial persona. However, he also landed in controversy when he commented that Bollywood cannot afford him while promoting his film Major in the North belt. Similarly, Sai Pallavi's comments indirectly targeting the Kashmir Files triggered a huge controversy. Sai Pallavi while promoting her film Virataparvam said  “The Kashmiri Files showed how Kashmiri Pandits were killed at the time. If you are taking the issue as a religious conflict, recently a Muslim driver, who was transporting cows, was beaten up and forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram. ' So where's the difference between these two incidents? Though she tried to explain, others did not buy her argument.

Vijay Devarakonda landed in a problem when Manoj Desai, a veteran theatre owner fired on him blaming him for low collections for Liger. While reacting to the Boycott Liger trend, Vijay Devarakonda said 'Dekh Lenge, Vaat Lagaa Denge'. Manoj Desai blasted Vijay Devarakonda and branded him arrogant. However, Vijay Devarakonda sorted out the issue by meeting and taking the blessings of Manoj Desai. However, Vijay Devarakonda, Charmee Kaur, and Puri Jagannath were questioned by ED over Liger funding.

Dil Raju landed in controversy over Varisu's release. Telugu producers council passed a resolution to allot theatres only to Telugu films during Sankranti. Dil Raju who earlier batted for it is now defying the same.
