Another tragedy struck Tollywood when senior actor Chalapathi Rao breathed his last today. Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao (78) suffered heart attack in a shocking manner and passed away at his house in Hyderabad. He is survived by a son and two daughters. Popular actor,writer, and director Ravi Babu is the son of Chalapathi Rao. Chalapathi Rao had been staying in Ravi Babu's house at MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
Born on May 8, 1944 in Baliparru, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, Chalapathi Rao was known for his comedy and villain roles. He entered into films with the encouragement of Sr NTR and went on to star in many films. Chalapati Rao made his presence felt in films like Vetagadu, Yamagola, Aditya 369, Sampoorna Ramayanam, Ninne Pelladatha, Aadi, and Chennakesava Reddy etc.
His body is kept at Ravi Babu's residence and later will be shifted to Mahaprasthanam at 3 PM today. Condolences are pouring in from all quarters.
