Shankar-Ranveer 3 part mammoth film

Visionary Director Shankar is known for massive budget films. From his first film, Gentleman to his recent last film 2.0, all of his films is mounted on a huge scale. He is the first director who used VFX in commercial cinema. Director Shankar is a master at blending social messages with commercial elements and making them on a large canvas. Now he is simultaneously shooting for RC15 with Ram Charan and Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. Both of these are mega-budgeted films.

The latest news is that Shankar's next after these two projects will be the biggest in his career. He will do a three-part epic based on a famous Tamil novel, Velpari. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh will be the hero in these biggest pan-India cinematic event films. The movie will be a cinematic adaptation of Velpari novel which has many aspects that will make the film a benchmark in action spectacles.

As the story is vast and complex, it can't be covered in one part. So, Shankar decided to make it in 3 parts with an interesting screenplay that matches the story. This will be made on a humongous budget and marks the costliest films in Shankar and Ranveer's careers. Earlier it was announced that Shankar to remake Anniyan / Aparichitudu with Ranveer Singh in Hindi. But, now that project is not happening any more. Velpari is considered as one of the most important novels in Tamil literature like Ponniyin Selvan.
