Virataparvam has been hogging the media limelight for quite some time. When Rana and Sai Pallavi were roped in to be part of Virataparvam under the direction of Venu Udugula, everyone got excited as it happens to be a period drama, and Rana and Sai Pallavi are known for their power-packed performances.

The presence of the star-studded cast of Priyamani, Nanditha Das, Naveen Chandra, Zareena Wahab, Eswari Rao, Sai Chand, Benarji, Nagineedu, Rahul Ramakrishna, Devi Prasad, Anand Ravi, Anand Chakrapani increased expectations on the project. However, rumors spread that all was not well and producer Suresh Babu who was unhappy with the film's output ordered many reshoots. Rumors also spread that Suresh Babu roped in another director in place of Venu Udugula.
