Sathish Vegesna’s next getting ready

Writer, filmmaker Sathish Vegesna has evolved as a brand for clean family entertainers in recent years with films like Shatamanam Bhavati, Srinivasa Kalyanam and Enta Manchivadavura under his belt. It surprised many when he decided to direct a youth-centric flick like Kothi Kommachi a few months ago.

One of the few Telugu projects to have been filmed after the shoot permits were granted in 2020, Kothi Kommachi stars his son Sameer Vegesna, Meghansh Sreehari, Riddhi Kumar and Megha Chowdhury in key roles. Now, the film is expected to release in the latter half of March. Kothi Kommachi has more or less wrapped up the bulk of its post-production formalities.

Currently in the re-recording phase, producer MLV Sathyanarayana has expressed happiness with the output of the film. Shot predominantly in the vicinity of Amalapuram and Visakhapatnam, the film with music by Anup Rubens is told to have abundant doses of humour and emotions that’ll appeal to the youth and family audiences.

March is already packed with many releases – Sreekaram, Jaathirathnalu, Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, Rang De, Aranya to name a few. It’ll certainly be a challenge for these films to find theatres. Provided Kothi Kommachi is promoted well and the audiences resonate with the young star cast, the film may spring a surprise. The presence of veterans like Rajendra Prasad, Naresh, Annapurna will certainly be a bonus in wooing crowds to theatres.
