Corona Effect: Why Only Restrictions To Cinema Halls!

From bars to parks to gyms to shopping malls, everything is open. But, central government is hesitant to lift restrictions on Cinema halls. Already, film industry is badly hit due to corona and lockdown. While fortunate thing is shootings are happening as usual, theatres are functional with just 50% seating capacity which is an unfortunate thing.

The success of recent release Solo Brathuke So Better shows how eager Telugu audiences are to watch films on big screens. But, neither the state nor the central governments are taking this into consideration. Even in case, state governments give permission, the Centre is reacting quickly cautioning to revoke the orders and the developments in Tamil Nadu are the best example.

If the situations are as alarming as early days of corona, then it would have been fine. Moreover, everything is open and people are seen thronging to wine shops and huge turnout is witnessed in political meetings. If there won’t be harm in people coming out in huge numbers for party meetings, then what’s the problem if theatres are operated with 100% seating occupancy?

If proper precautions are taken, it won’t be a contagious. It doesn’t really matter, whether only 50% people are allowed or 100%.

It’s really tough for high budget commercial entertainers to recover all the investments from theatres under these circumstances and many big ticket films got postponed to summer, though they were almost ready for release. If there will be no ease in restrictions on Cinemas, these films will be pushed further. In that case, it will be a huge burden for producers who already incur huge losses due to long delay.

Let’s hope, Central government will find out a solution to resolve the issue. It may be noted here that, although vaccine will be available soon, it will take months for it to reach every corner.
