Case Against Acharya Actor

Mumbai's civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has filed a case against Acharya actor Sonu Sood for violating norms by converting his six-storey residential building into a hotel. The civic body accused that the actor failed to take the permission from them and without permission went on to turn it into hotel.

The said building is located near plush locales of Juhu. However, the actor contradicts the version of civic body, who says that he has been accorded the said permission. He now awaits Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) permission. He added that he would convert it into back to building if the permission does fall from BMC.

For the unversed, Sonu has taken relentless efforts to help migrants and scores of needy in lockdown. He had reportedly mortgaged his properties, which includes two shops and six flats and are located in Juhu to raise Rs 10 crores to help in lockdown.
