What’s The Criteria For A Film To Be A Hit In OTT?

Corona pandemic is changing the look of the film industry completely. Till now, there used to be a box office war between the top stars. But that disappeared completely. Gone are the days when fans used to boast of the stars' records.  Now digital platform and Ott release changed the entire face of the industry. 

There is no scope for the Box Office war in Otts. Under these circumstances how to decide on the success or failure of a web series or a film. What is the criterion to be a hit in Ott? There is no answer to it. In theatres, there are criteria like collections, occupancy, etc. But all those are immaterial for Otts.

To release a film, Otts will acquire the rights for a profitable amount to the producers. So under these circumstances, one can brand all films as a hit in Otts. To the top of it, since the content will be available forever in Otts, in the long run, they may get good viewership.

With no criterion, even if the makers claim their films to be a hit, one can be amply clear that they are merely promoting their film. However, all that will be a wasteful exercise. In future top stars, films are getting ready for release. It has to be seen how the makers will claim or promote their films as hits or blockbusters.
