Nandamuri Balakrishna ventured into production with NTR Biopic which was made in two parts as NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu. Although the film bombed at box office and buyers incurred heavy losses, Balakrishna pocketed huge sum as the film’s theatrical and digital rights were sold for exorbitant prices.
Balakrishna initially promised buyers to offer Mahanayakudu rights for fee as they faced huge losses with Kathanayakudu. However, he did not keep his promise. As is known, Mahanayakudu turned out as one of the biggest disasters in Tollywood history. The film was removed from many theaters in first week itself.
Balakrishna who thought of producing his next films under NBK Films LLP has backed off, as he doesn’t want to take any risk. Firstly, no distributor is keen to invest on Balakrishna’s films and the other reason is his market has been shrunken completely in recent times with consecutive flops.
When Balakrishna doesn’t have faith on his caliber, who else will have. So, no producer is ready to make films with Balakrishna whose dream project (Mahanayakudu) collected less than 5 Cr share so far.
In fact, this is the reason why Balakrishna postponed his film with Boyapati Srinu for few months. The film will be materialized if and only if they find any investor. More importantly, Boyapati who is known for making high budget entertainers has made few flops in recent times and his last movie Vinaya Vidheya Rama with Ram Charan was a box office dud.
