Indian film industry is experiencing the shocks of Metoo effect with many heroines, female artists coming out in open exposing the casting couch and revealing big names in the process.

Inside talk is that audience are experiencing Metoo effect on item songs. Recently a Bollywood director made clear that he will not include item songs in his films and another director Vishal Bharadwaj deleted the hot item song Hello Hello shot on Malaika Arora in the film Pataka.

Item songs might have been there since the advent of Talkies but they became integral part since 1970s. Recently in Stree, Norah Fatehi's special song Kamariya created sensation. The film which highlighted the ill effects of objectifying and insulting women, however did not see the objectification of Norah Fatehi.

After Tanushree Dutta's shocking exposure about Nana Patekar, Bollywood makers are undergoing a change in their thought process. Karan Johar expressed regrets in 2017 for objectifying women and vowed not to have any item songs in his films.

Vishal Bharadwaj pictured the special song Hello Hello on Maalaika Arora but he didnot include in the film. While Malaika Arora said that she has no regrets in doing special songs and never felt objectified while dancing for the special songs, she knew that all the eyes of men and their attention will be on her.

Shabana Azmi said there is nothing wrong with actresses who do special songs celebrating their sensuality but if they get objectified in the process, then it will be a problem.
