Akkineni Nagarjuna’s much awaited devotional film ‘Om Namo Venkateshaya’ might run into controversies if members from Hathiram Baba mutt in Tirupathi assert to legal measures to control the damage of Hathiram Baba image. As we all know, the K Raghavendra Rao directorial is made on the life of Lord Balaji’s ardent devotee Hathiram Baba, a pilgrim of North India settled in Tirupathi when fascinated by majestic appearance of Lord Balaji and then constructed a mutt besides Balalji temple.
Although Raghavendra Rao took permission from the mutt and its committee members before beginning the shooting of film, reports say they aren’t happy with addition of commercial elements to script like romantic glamour oozing songs, the one of Pragya Jaiswal shot few weeks back.
Mutt members demanded KRR to brief them the story, script again and also screen them the first copy before releasing the film for public viewing. Whatsoever, KRR is addicted to churning commercial hits with devotional subjects treating basic script with his own touch. How far Hathiram Baba Mutt agrees to this commercial distortion and cinematic dramatization of facts will have to be wait and seen.
