Originally, Maruthi had envisioned 'Raja Deluxe' as a compact and spooky film, akin to 'Chandramukhi,' which successfully combined horror and thrills while justifying the presence of a superstar like Rajinikanth. However, several script modifications have been made to transform it into a star-centric horror flick that will meet the heightened expectations of the audience.

These changes were deemed necessary as 'Raja Deluxe' is scheduled for release after the much-anticipated 'Salaar' and 'Project K,' where Prabhas is set to deliver high-octane action performances. Consequently, any film following these action-packed blockbusters must align with his established image and undergo certain refinements to meet audience demands.

Director Maruthi's vision for 'Raja Deluxe' is not to create a typical pan-India film but rather a 'regional-centric' horror drama, designed to send shivers down the audience's spine. The majority of the filming will occur within a house, with a substantial investment of approximately Rs 6 crore in the set's construction, providing the ideal backdrop for the spine-tingling moments that await viewers.
