Though his followers say he is a Kapu crusader, Mudragada Padmanabham is actually considered the real villain of Kapus. Most of the movements raised by Mudragada are for selfish reasons, say the people who have closely observed his life over the decades. When Megastar Chiranjeevi floated Prajarajyam party, Mudragada contested as an MLA candidate from Pithapuram constituency. Of course, Mudragada was defeated in the battle. Mudragada is jealous of Chiranjeevi and that's why he contested against the PRP then.
As Pawan Kalyan established Janasean party, political analysts thought that Mudragada would extend his solidarity to Pawan Kalyan. Turning down their predictions, Mudragada extended his support to the Jagan Reddy led YSRCP. Though Mudragada kept mum on politics, every now and then, he wrote open letters to the YSRCP government as per the directions of Jagan Reddy. And the letters usually slam the Janasena and the TDP.
There is yet another Kapu leader who has the stature on par with Mudragada and he is none other than late minister and MLA Chegondi Hari Rama Jogaiah. In spite of being an octogenarian, Chegondi is quite active in working in favour of Pawan Kalyan. Recently, Chegondi has initiated the demand of 5% reservations to Kapus. Furthermore, Chegondi has decided to battle against the ruling YSRCP in court.
Chegondi is a man with a right perspective on the issues and is selfless in leading the revolts.
