Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday appealed to students not to resort to the extreme steps for the cause of Telangana state formation as the official process has been initiated. 

Expressing his concern over the students committing suicides over the delay in the formation of Telangana state, the Chief Minister said the terms of reference of the Srikrishna Committee on Telangana were finalized and the students should not resort to bandhs and nor attempt to end their lives in a hurry.

He appealed to Osmania University Joint Action Committee and political parties to create awareness on the issue as these extreme steps are unwarranted. He asked the students and political leaders to maintain restraint till the Srikrishna Commission comes out with a report. 

Rosaiah said the state would abide by any decision taken by the Centre on the Srikrishna Commission's recommendations. 

The Chief Minister told the House that he does not belong to any region and all regions are equal to him. He made a fervent appeal to all party leaders not to make any provocative or emotive statements on the Telangana issue. 

Concurring with Chief Minister, Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu also made an appeal to the students, the police and the party leaders. 

Expressing concern over the loss of precious lives of students, Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy said the students should concentrate on their studies to come up in life.
