The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has sought the disqualification of A Revanth Reddy as the Member of Legislative Assembly for his alleged involvement in 'Cash For Vote' case.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said probably this was the first case in the history where one MLA tried to bribe another legislator seeking his vote for his party's candidate. He said that the video footage has proved that Revanth Reddy had tried to bribe Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson by paying him Rs 50 lakh. He said Revanth Reddy lost eligibility to remain a Member of Legislative Assembly soon after he was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Eatala said despite bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the leaders of Andhra parties have been trying to create some or the other controversies every day. He accused them of trying to weaken the Telangana leadership. He said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was directly responsible for the 'Cash For Vote' episode. He alleged Naidu was notorious for collecting crore of rupees to allot party tickets. He further alleged that the TDP chief sold Rajya Sabha ticket to CM Ramesh for Rs 30 crore.
The Finance Minister claimed that the TDP has lost its ground after the 'Cash For Vote' case and people would teach TDP a fitting lesson at an appropriate time.
Meanwhile, another minister Jupally Krishna Rao too alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was equally involved in 'Cash For Vote' case and action should also be taken against him.
