Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday dismissed the allegations that Congress party has adopted a dual stand on the Telangana issue.

Botsa said that the PCC would not go against the decision of the Congress Working Committee. However, he said that it was the responsibility of the PCC to convey the feelings of the people of all region before the Group of Ministers (GoM). He also said that the Congress MLAs would be free to express their views on bifurcation issue when the Telangana Bill gets presented in the State Legislative Assembly. He also hinted that the Congress Legislature Party would not issue a whip when the Telangana Bill comes for voting.

The PCC President also clarified that his meeting with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was related to bifurcation of State. He claimed that he met Shinde in connection with relief for the cyclone and rain-hit people of Andhra Pradesh. He also denied having received any invitation from the GoM. However, he said he would represent the GoM as the PCC chief in case he is invited. He also expressed ignorance on the report submitted by the Chief Secretary to the GoM.
