The Telugu Desam Party on Friday objected to the State Government spending money on advertisements to mark the completion of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's one year tenure.
Talking to reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy alleged that the State Government has been spending money lavishly for advertisements on Rachabanda and also to mark completion of Kiran Kumar Reddy's one year tenure. He said hundreds of crores of rupees have been misused by Information and Public Relations Minister DK Aruna and other officials by giving the advertisement contract to one single company.
Alleging that the Chief Minister has been confined to hoardings and advertisements, the TDP MLA said that governance in the State has completely failed. He said the TDP would introduce a No Confidence Motion against Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, if the government fails to announce relief measures for drought affected farmers. He said nearly 6,000 farmers were forced to end their lives due to the failure of State Government.
Revanth Reddy accused the Chief Minister of not having grip on his own Cabinet ministers who are openly resenting his policies and schemes. He asked the Chief Minister to explain how he would provide 15 lakh jobs to unemployed youth in the State within 3 years. He also sought details of ration cards issued in the State as against the 32 lakh applications received in the first phase of Rachabanda programme.
The TDP demanded that the State Government to supply quality rice under Rs 1-a-kg scheme and take steps for containing skyrocketing prices of other essential commodities.
