Announce MSP for paddy: BJP

Highlighting the State Government’s indifferent attitude towards addressing the farmers’ problems, the Bharatiya Janata Party activists on Wednesday staged a dharna at Indira Park.

Addressing the gathering, BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu alleged that the government totally failed in solving the farmers’ problems.

He said the recent elections have proved that the people of state are against the Congress government due to its anti-farmer policies.

He alleged the government totally failed to announce minimum support price for paddy and failed to establish enough purchasing centers to lift the grains.

At least now, he demanded that the government focus on farmers problems and make efforts to solve them.

He threatened to intensify his agitation if the state government failed to take proper measures for addressing farmers’ woes.

Stating the government administration came to standstill, he predicted that the government will collapse if it failed solve people’s problems.

Later when the BJP activists including state president G Kishen Reddy, senior leader Bhandaru Dattatreya and Bhandaru Laxman took out a rally from Indira Park to Secretariat.

However, the police foiled their attempts and arrested all citing that they have no permission to take out rallies.

All the arrested have been shifted to Gandhi Nagar police station.
