Telugu Desam Telangana Legislators Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Saturday alleged that the Telangana Political joint Action Committee (TPJAC) convenor Kodandaram was acting like an tool of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi by not letting other separate statehood protagonists gain importance.
Mr Janardhan Reddy further alleged that the TRS was only interested in coming to power after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and hence was not allowing any other party to come up in Telangana.
He further alleged that the TPJAC convenor has failed to bring all the pro-Telangana leaders on a single platform to push for a united struggle for a separate state.
“Even as the Seemandhra leaders make united efforts to keep the state integrated, the TPJAC has totally failed to gain the confidence of all Telangana leaders on the separate statehood issue,” Mr Janardhan Reddy told media persons at Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office.
Demanding that Prof Kodandaram seek the resignation of all Telangana leaders from their parties, the TTDPF convener asked, “Why he is seeking the resignations of only TDP Telangana leaders and trying to pressurize them by saying that they would not be believed unless they part ways with the party?”
Mr Janardhan Reddy continued, “Who is he to seek my resignation from the TDP?”, and alleged that Prof Kodandaram was showing discrimination and partiality against Telugu Desam Party leaders from Telangana region.
“If all Telangana leaders resign from their parties en mass, I am ready to submit my resignation to my party and participate in Telangana agitation,” he stated.
The senior TDP leader said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao wants the TRS to rule Telangana and was keen that no other party should come up in the region.
“Following the TPJAC call, I have organized Telangana Sadhana Yatra in Nagarkurnool. I had not hoisted the flag of my party at the Sadhana Yatra. Even then, the TPJAC did not extend any support and no one from TPJAC participated in the Yatra,” Mr Janardhan Reddy lamented.
“However, now I am inviting all Telangana leaders to participate in another meeting ‘Telangana Nagarara’ at Parigi in Rangareddy district. This Nagara will be held on May 21,” the senior MLA stated.
When pointed out by media persons that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was adamant that the TDP flag should be hoisted at the Telangana meetings, Mr Janardhan Reddy stated that “If Mr Naidu is ready to write a letter to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on the TDP resolution on Telangana and says no objection for a separate state, I will hoist the flag during the meetings. Till the time this happens, only the Telangana flag will be hoisted.”
He demanded that the Centre stands by its promise that it would make an announcement on Telangana state within a week after the elections results of five state Assemblies are declared.
He also called upon Telangana Congress leaders to mount pressure on the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament.
