Odarpu Yatra postponed to May 24

The ‘Odarpu Yatra’ of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy, scheduled to resume on May 14 from Vizianagaram district, has been postponed to May 24. According to former minister P Sambhasiva Raju, the yatra, which was scheduled to resume on May 14, was postponed due to counting of votes of Kadapa by-election on May 13 and due to election code being in place.

Earlier, Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had launched his yatra on March 28 but put it off soon after the announcement of by-polls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies by the Election Commission. The YSR Congress Party president had toured the district for three days of the scheduled nine days. "Now, the remaining six days of the yatra has been extended to nine days to cover the entire 580 km in the district," stated his close follower and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who is coordinating the arrangements with the local leaders in Vizianagaram  to chart out the yatra route.
