The city unit of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president was trying to cover his own inadequacies by making scapegoats of his party’s three MLAs.
Leading a dharna against the TRS chief, former Hyderabad Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy said that by only suspending and not removing the three MLAs from the party, KCR has hurt the sentiments of the Telangana people whose trust has been betrayed.
Mr Krishna Reddy demanded that KCR immediately turn the suspension orders into dismissal orders against the three MLAs who were found guilty of cross-voting in the recently held elections for the Legislative Council.
Mr Krishna Reddy told media persons after burning an effigy depicting the TRS party president that KCR and his team have been playing with the passions of the Telangana people and hurting their sentiments.
The former Mayor said that if KCR is sincere in his commitment to a separate state, he should go to Delhi and convince the Congress High Command and not return till the state is carved out.
Mr Krishna Reddy further alleged that this would never come about since, “the TRS chief has surrendered before the Congress High command and has ‘sold out’ the Telangana issue.
