Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor Prof Kodandaram on Monday alleged that the Centre, under the pretext of studying the Justice Srikrishna Committee Report, is resorting to delaying tactics on the introduction of Telangana Bill in Parliament.
Addressing a conference on `Role of Handicapped in Telangana agitation’ organised at the Basheer Bagh Press Club, the TPJAC convener stated that the Centre was dilly-dallying on Telangana statehood issue and making excuses.
He said the Centre should make sincere efforts towards introduction of Telangana Bill ‘at least now’. Warning the Centre that it should not test the patience of Telanganaites further, Prof Kodandaram stated that the agitation for the separate statehood would be intensified.
He said that JAC steering committee meeting would be convened within two days to chalk out the future course of plan on Telangana and called upon all sections of people to participate widely in the statehood agitation.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender stated that the formation of Telangana state will be possible only by adopting the agitational mode.
“The agitation will be continued until the formation of separate Telangana state,” he stated.
Telugu Desam Party MLA Jaipal Yadav expressed solidarity to Telangana agitation by participating in the meeting.
