Noted Tollywood hero Taraka Ratna breathed his last on Saturday, February 18 in Bengaluru due to cardiac arrest. He was 39 and is survived by wife Alekhya Reddy and a daughter. Taraka Ratna was the son of popular cinematographer Nandamuri Mohana Krishna and he was also the grandson of former CM NT Ramarao. 

Born on 22 February 1983, Taraka Ratna made his film debut with 'Okato Number Kurradu' released in 2002. In fact, he set a huge record launching 9 films on the same day of his debut. Apart from playing hero roles, Taraka Ratna had also played supporting hero and villain roles in a couple of films.

Taraka Ratna stepped into the shoes of politics recently and was supposed to contest as an MLA in one of the constituencies of AP in the 2024 general elections. He wanted to do the Yuvagalam walkathon along with Nara Lokesh. 

Sadly, Taraka Ratna fainted on the launching day of Yuvagalam following an intense cardiac arrest. He was treated by the specialist doctors from the foreign countries at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bengaluru. Though the doctors tried hard to save his life, all their attempts have gone in vain. Having fought for life for 23 days, finally, Taraka Ratna passed away on 18 February. 

Cinejosh is saddened with the demise of the actor politician Taraka Ratna. May his soul rest in peace!
