The stars locked horns with their upcoming films Varisu and Thunivu. Both the films were announced to release on 11th January for Pongal. As the clash is nearing, fans, industry and trade are eagerly awaiting for the big day. Now, updates about their next films start rolling out. Both the films have added interesting actors in crucial roles.

Vijay's next #Thalapathy67 is launched last month. Current hotshot director of Tamil industry, Lokesh Kanagaraj is directing this gangster action film. It is said to be a part of Loki Verse along with films Kaithi and Vikram. Huge expectations are running on this film. News is Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is onboard as antagonist in this film. This is definitely a valued addition as Sanjay's villainy looks menacing and it is already proved with Agneepath and KGF Chapter 2. Trisha is playing as female lead while Seven Screen Studios is producing this much anticipated film. The film started rolling from January 2nd in Chennai.

Ajith Kumar's next #AK62 is directed by Vignesh Shivn while Lyca Productions is bank-rolling this project. Aravind Swamy who became quite popular as stylish villain with Thani Oruvan,  Dhruva is playing as main villain in the film. While Lyca is considering Trisha as the female lead, it seems not possible as she is not in good terms with Vignesh Shivn. Kiara Advani is also considered but she is unable to adjust dates because of her marriage plans with Siddharth Malhotra. It is said to be Nayanthara will be playing as female lead in the film.
