Stars films that stopped Tollywood run in 2022

Tollywood skyrocketed post covid with the films like Krack, Pushpa The Rise,Akhanda, and others. However, there are few films that pulled down the surge of Tollywood in 2022. Top stars films released amidst huge expectations turned out to be disasters.

The first among such films is Prabhas, Pooja Hegde's romantic entertainer Radhe Shyam. The film directed by Radha Krishna Kumar landed distributors over Rs 110crs. Next comes Chiranjeevi's Acharya directed by Koratala Shiva. This film, despite the presence of Ram Charan, left the distributors with more than Rs 90crs losses and impacted the future projects of Koratala Shiva.

Vijay Devarakonda, Puri Jagannath's Liger turned out to be a disaster leaving distributors with around Rs 62crs losses. Similarly, Ram-Lingusamy's The Warriorr left distributors in Rs 18crs losses. Nagarjuna's The Ghost left distributors in losses amounting to Rs 17crs. Naga Chaitanya's Thank You resulted in Rs 20crs losses.
