Kollywood actor Jayam Ravi is renowned for his high-octane different genre entertainers. His upcoming bilingual entertainer under the direction of debutant Antony Bhagyaraj is titled in a powerful manner as Siren. Antony Bhagyaraj worked as a screenwriter for films like Ajith's Viswasam and Rajinikanth's Annathe.

The film stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead and the motion video excited all showing a crime scene with the police vehicles and ambulances honking sirens and reaching the spot. However, the film's title landed in controversy as the makers of a Telugu film approached the producers' council saying that they have registered their film with the same title and already wrapped the shooting. They are questioning how right on the part of Jayam Ravi's filmmakers to name the film after their title.
