Kalam Death, Governments Go Against

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana CM KCR, Meghalaya Government and many more of such politicians are going against the philosophy of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Marking a respect for the demised soul of our former President, many Governments are announcing holidays for today or tomorrow and some even announced a seven day state mourning.

However, Kalam was absolutely against taking a holiday or giving a holiday to keep government offices, schools, colleges closed. One of Kalam famous quotations, ‘Do Not Declare Holiday On My Death, Instead Work An Extra Day, If You Love Me’ should be remembered by all of us. It is ironical that many politicians are going against the spirit of Kalam. Increasing the productivity of Indian young generation was one of his best well defined goals. 

Cutting across the religions, people around the world are mourning on Kalam’s death with special prayers arranged in churches, mosques and temples. For a man with modern vision, let us pray for his soul to rest in peace.
