Diljit Dosanjh Reacts As Satluj Is Removed From ZEE5 India

Diljit Dosanjh addressed fans after Satluj was taken down from ZEE5 India just two days after its July 3 release. In an Instagram Live, he said he expected the removal and thanked viewers. The film, earlier titled Punjab '95, is based on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
He explained the team avoided promotions to ensure the film released. "Once anything is online, it never gets deleted," Diljit said, urging fans to keep sharing it. Videos of people watching it in Rajasthan gave him relief. He added, "I am with Punjab till the day I die."
The film faced a 4 year delay after editing due to certification issues. Diljit worked 2 years on it while producer Honey Trehan spent 6 years. Shooting was also stopped once. Diljit cried after watching the 2023 final cut, calling it emotionally powerful and important for today’s youth.
ZEE5 removed Satluj citing "current developments" and said it will return through legal process. The film covers Khalra’s 1995 case on enforced disappearances. Despite the ban, Diljit feels proud the story is finally being discussed in every home and hopes digital copies keep the message alive across India.
