Prithviraj Sukumaran's recent theatrical release, Aadujeevitham (2024), has emerged as a major commercial success at the box office with a worldwide gross of over Rs 150 crore, marking as the only third Malayalam film to do so after 2018 (2023) and Manjummel Boys (2024).
Now that its theatrical run has almost come to an end, fans across languages are awaiting for the film’s digital premiere. ''Aadujeevitham The Goat Life' will be available for online streaming on Disney+ and Hotstar from May 26, 2024. Directed by Blessy, Amala Paul as the female lead. A. R. Rahman composed the background score and songs for this survival drama film.
The film is an international co-production between Indian and American corporations. It is an adaptation of Benyamin's 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant laborer, one of thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs.
The movie stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Amala Paul, and Jimmy Jean-Louis. Prithviraj's performance is being lauded widely, and the movie has become one of the highest-grossing South Indian films of the year. The movie faces a ban across all Khaleeji countries except the UAE, similar to the novel.
