However, Vijay, known for his laidback demeanor, addressed these rumors in a recent interview with Lifestyle Asia.

When questioned about the engagement rumors with Rashmika, Vijay responded in his signature casual style, stating, “I’m not getting engaged or married in February. It feels like the press wants to get me married every two years. I hear this rumor every year. They’re just walking around waiting to catch me and get me married.” Despite the persistent speculations, Vijay chose to focus on his work rather than delve deeper into the personal aspect.

Speaking about his recent film, "Liger," directed by Puri Jagannadh, which faced challenges at the box office, Vijay expressed his perspective. “It was a script I liked, a director I was very keen to work with, and I gave it my everything,” he said. Reflecting on the outcome, he added, “In hindsight, there could have been things that could have been better about it, but there’s nothing that I can change, and I don’t even think about changing it. It was a part of my life; I gave a few years to it, and I moved on.”

Vijay and Rashmika have shared the screen in two films - the 2018 hit "Geetha Govindam" and the 2019 film "Dear Comrade." While their on-screen chemistry garnered attention, it's their off-screen bond that has become a topic of discussion. The duo often takes vacations, and although they refrain from sharing pictures together, keen-eyed fans notice similar backgrounds in their posts. Rashmika's close relationship with Vijay's family has also fueled speculation. Despite this, both actors consistently assert that they are 'just friends' and dismiss inquiries about their personal lives.

Looking ahead, Vijay, last seen in "Kushi" with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is currently filming "Family Star" with director Parasuram Petla, who helmed "Geetha Govindam." The movie features Mrunal Thakur as his co-star, and despite initial plans for a Sankranthi release, the film's debut was postponed due to delayed schedules in the US. The filmmakers are now targeting a summer release for "Family Star."
