Director turned actor Gautham Vasudev Menon is gearing up for his next directorial film Dhruva Natchathiram with Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role. The film which is a spy action-thriller has been in the making for quite some years now due to Menon’s financial constraints and finally, it is releasing on the 24th of November.
Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, the director shared that he initially didn’t plan Chiyaan Vikram to play the lead role in the film. The director had apparently narrated the scripts to both Rajinikanth and Suriya prior to this but had failed to materialize.
The director further added that he narrated the script to Rajinikanth to play the lead role in the now-Chiyaan Vikram starrer. He apparently had narrated the script to Rajinikanth after making some slight changes, possibly the age group and all which the Superstar had also liked but due to other reasons the film didn’t materialize and Rajinikanth opted to do Kabaali back then.
He also went on to reveal that later he approached hero Suriya for Dhruva Natchathiram as well. However, the actor had doubts about the film and considered a spy thriller may not work, adding that there are no references of it working out as well.Due to the above mentioned reasons, Suriya declined the lead role in the film and finally Gautham Vasudev Menon approached Vikram and as he liked the script, the project went on the floors eight years ago.
