Paruchuri Gopala Krishna: Prolific Writer Of Telugu Cinema

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, one of the most prolific writers of sensational writer duo Paruchuri Brothers is known for penning powerful and insightful dialogues in films. He is a film screenwriter, story writer, dialogue writer, actor, director, poet, playwright, novelist, and orator who worked for more than 350 films. He worked as Telugu lecturer before turning into a writer and starting his career in films.

Along with writing stories and playlets, he is also a theatre actor. Up on the suggestion of his elder brother Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao who was already working in the film industry, Gopalakrishna also joined him as a writer. Initially they both started writing for the films with screen names, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and Paruchuri Gopala Krishna. In 1982, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao proposed the screen name Paruchuri Brothers and since then the writing-duo have been established as successful writers.

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna along with his brother provided sensational films for top stars like Naa Desam with NTR, Eenadu and Mundadugu with Krishna, Bobbili Brahmanna with Krishnam Raju, Khaidi with Chiranjeevi. Gopalakrishna is known for his communist ideology and the film's in their initial career are known for revolt against feudal system and irregularities in the society.

He also turned into director along with his brother and directed 9 films. Among them Sarpayagam starring Sobhan Babu was biggest hits. Gopalakrishna acted in more than 45 films and made a mark with his peculiar dialogue delivery. Gopalakrishna also acted as host for many TV shows in popular Telugu channels. He also written and directed a series for E TV titled Matti Manishi starring ANR. In 2017, he began YouTube channel and started sharing his knowledge by teaching film script writing classes (#ParuchuriPalukulu and #ParuchurPaataalu) for all aspiring writers.
