Chandrabose on National and oscars. Chandrabose, created a history when he won the Oscars for the lyrics of the song Naatu Naatu in Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR. Many expected him to win the best lyricist award at the national level for the same song Naatu Naatu.

But much to the surprise of all, though Chandrabose won the award, he won it for his song Dham Dham in Kondapolem and not for Naatu Naatu in RRR. Speaking to scribes, Chandra Bose said many congratulated him for winning the Oscars but none called him and congratulated for the National Award.

He said “My only dream was to win one National award in my life. I did not have a vision beyond this. I have been manifesting it for the last 12 years and working really hard for it,” He said he had high expectations that he would win the national award for the songs in Rangashtalam.

He shared “National Award was an achievable dream for me, and that’s why I had worked really hard for it. But, Academy Awards was something beyond my imagination. It was an unattainable wish that I could not even think of. In fact, I didn’t even know that it was possible for a writer from India to get an Oscar.”

He added “After getting the Oscar, I was flooded with messages, and that’s not even our awards. And now that I have got the National Award, only a handful of people congratulated me. My wife in fact asked me, ‘Why are media people not calling you?’ May be they are tired of me (laughs) or there are several other Telugu people who have won this time, so the attention is divided now,”
