After disastrous summer this year, Tollywood found some respite with a couple of hits, Samajavaragamana and Baby. But, since July all the big films failed to rake in big numbers. Except for Tamil dubbed film, Rajinikanth starrer Jailer none of the Telugu films showed any impact and failed miserably at the boxoffice. Infact, Jailer comes as a saviour for exhibitors and theatres for August month.
Now all eyes are on biggies getting ready to release in September. Seven films are gearing up to hit the marquees in September. Among them four are direct Telugu films and three are dubbed films. The main film among all of them is Prabhas starrer Salaar which is carrying huge expectations with trade betting big on the film.
The other films too carry good buzz and are capable to turn into money spinners. It all begins with Kushi, the Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha starrer which is a musical romantic love story. The songs and promotions have worked well with the audience. It will hit the screens on September 1st. Then on September 7th Miss Shetty Mister Polishetty starring Anushk and Naveen Polishetty is releasing. This rom-com has generated buzz with its trailer and Naveen is touring across Telugu states promoting the film.
Ram, Boyapati's high voltage actioner Skanda is slated for September 15 for Vinayaka Chavithi. Though the trailer is filled with regular mass elements. If it manages to click with audiences, there are high chances for the film turning into a blockbuster especially with single screens. Then, the much awaited biggie Salaar starring Pan India Star Prabhas in Prashanth Neel's direction will hit the big screens on September 28th. The film is surrounded with huge buzz. But, the promotions are yet to be started. Its is expected that the team will kickstart promotions from September first week with a Trailer.
Along with these direct Telugu films, dubbing films like Shahrukh Khan's Jawaan, Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut's Chandramukhi 2 and Vishal's Mark Anthony are also releasing in September. Let's see how many of these films will make a fortune at the Tollywood boxoffice.
