Hyderabad, Aug 14 :-

The three-member committee appointed to enquire into the allegations that retired police officials, including the retired DGP, are still using policemen for work at their houses, felt to do away with the orderly system in the police department. The committee appointed by the state government following the death of constable, P Muralinath, consists of Principal Secretary Ramakanth Reddy, Home secretary Ajay Mishra and Director General of Police S S P Yadav.

The committee also founded fault with deputing a 40-year-old P Muralinath, a constable of the State Armed Reserve who was working for no less than Additional Director General of Police Vivek Dube who heads the state’s anti-terror force Octopus.

The committee felt that the orderly system has become common practice for most of the officials. However, several officials who retired almost a decade ago are using the services of the homeguards and constables. Keeping in view the security of officers, bullet proof cars and constables are sometimes assigned to work for recently retired officials.

“This system is not just illegal but also immoral. It should be put to an end immediately,” the committee said. However, the committee stressed the importance of appointing a separate staff for higher officials for these purposes.
Earlier, the National Police Commission had recommended to abolish the orderly system.
