Six people reportedly went missing when the auto they boarded lost control and fell into a canal near Bellary in the wee hours of Monday.According to Superintendent of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh, the auto driver lost control over the vehicle after hitting the barricade, in which six people were travelling, and swerved to High Left Canal near Kollegal in Bellary district.
The police and district administration intensified their search operations with the help of fire department personnel and pressed divers to trace out the bodies.Among the deceased, three were identified as Puttamma, Lakshmi and Kaveri. The identities of other are yet to be known. Kollegal police have registered a case.
