14 killed in various road mishaps

At least nine people were killed on the spot and three others injured, one seriously in a road mishap that took place between lorry and sumo at Jagityala mandalam in Husnabad town in Karimnagar district in the wee hours of Monday.According to the police, among the deceased four are women and two children. All the deceased belonged to Nanded district in Maharashtra state. The mishap occurred when their sumo, which was carrying 12 people, heading towards Dharmapuri, a temple town in Maharashtra, collided head-on with a lorry killing nine people on the spot.

The identities of deceased are yet to be ascertained. All the three injured were rushed to the Husnabad Government general hospital. One of the seriously injured condition is stated to be dangerous, according to hospital sources. Police rushed to the accident spot and shifted the dead bodies to the mortuary.
 
In another mishap that took place near Utnoor mandalam in Kotthagudem in Adilabad district on Monday, two people were killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle knocked them when they were crossing the road.The identities of deceased are yet to be ascertained. Kotthagudem police have registered a case.
  
 In another road mishap occurred between lorry and a van at Bandavalli mandalam in Nandpet in Vizianagaram district three people were killed on the spot and four others injured seriously.The identities of deceased are yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case.
