The state government was aimed at establishing a better trained, better equipped and specialised force to combat any situation in the event of any disaster.In this regard, the Home Minister Mrs Sabitha Indra Reddy on Thursday conducted a video-conference with the Superintendent of Polices to finalise the modalities for giving training to elite police. The Minister said the government would give training to 100 elite police on how to tackle an emergency situation such as floods, droughts or accidents.The training would also cover how to save the trapped people and how to give them the first aid before taking them to the hospital, she explained.She directed the Superintendents of police to adopt flood affected villages to provide succor to victims.She advised the SPs to give meritorious medals for those who worked responsible and intelligently.The government would provide life jackets and boats for giving training in flood hit areas, she added.
