Pawan Takes Chiru's Slot, Chiru Shifts To Better Place

It’s been more than three weeks since the lockdown was implemented across the country. Activities in the Telugu cinema industry have been put on hold due to the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. With no releases in sight and the shootings and other events suspended due to the scare, Tollywood is being hit hard. The abrupt halt is more worrying because it comes at a time when a regular stream of films are set for release during the lucrative summer holiday season.

It seems theaters will be re-opened either in June or in July, though permission for film shootings is expected to be given from May end. Most probably, films scheduled for summer release will be given first priority for release when theaters will be reopened.

Coming to big ticket films that are scheduled for release in next few months this year, Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab is likely to release in August. The film directed by Sriram Venu was initially planned for May release. Now, it takes Megastar Chiranjeevi's ongoing film Acharya slot.

Acharya is now expected to release during dussehra festival in October. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film billed to be a commercial entertainer with a social message, features Kajal Aggarwal playing lead actress while Ram Charan will be seen in a brief role.

Nagarjuna's Wild Dog will probably release in August end, while Venkatesh's Naarappa would hit the screens in September. Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu combination film will also release in October.

Young Rebel Star Prabhas's 20th film with director Radhakumar may not see theaters this year.
