Mega Star Chiranjeevi while presenting ANR awards held in Hyderabad in a spectacular manner yesterday shared that his mother Anjana Devi was a diehard movie lover.
Sharing a heartrending incident he said, “I will start the program by sharing an incident which took place six decades back. It was a village and a newlywed couple used to live a happy life. Wife, who was 9 months pregnant, expressed her desire to watch her favorite hero's film with her husband. Her husband though asked how they can go in such a situation, decided to fulfill her desire.
They had to go to the town six kilometers to watch the film. While going on a horse, they fell down and the husband got immensely scared. He looked at his wife and luckily nothing happened. He planned to return back to the house but she was unrelenting.
Finally, they reached the theatre and watched her favorite hero's film happily. The pregnant woman in the story is my mother Anjana Devi and her husband is my father Venkatarao Garu. The village was Mogalturu and the nearby town was Narsapuram. It happened in 1955 and the film was Rojulu Marayi and hero was none other than Natasamrat ANR.
My mother was a big fan of ANR. I forgot I was in my mother's womb. I think because of my mother I developed love for films. I did Mechanic Alludu with ANR. It was a memorable experience for me. I told him how much I love him. He used to invite me to his house and I went many times. He used to speak in a loving manner. He was my inspiration. I used to interact with him personally during his last days."
