What Happened To Sensational Director?

One hit is enough for anyone in the film industry to reach the stars. It makes a person an overnight celebrity and offers land in their laps. However, even after scoring a sensational hit and the film winning the national award, this star director is not seen anywhere in the industry.

He is none other than Nag Ashwin who created a sensation with Mahanati, a biopic on legendary actress Savitri. Even after more than a year, Nag Ashwin did not make any announcement about his next project.

Nag Ashwin made his entry with Yevade Subrahmanyam. Though the film did not become a commercial hit, it won the appreciation of the critics. His next, Mahanati not only won the appreciation of the critics but also the hearts of the movie lovers. It got screened at various international film festivals and many awards and rewards.

Sometime back even Mega Star Chiranjeevi showed interest in starring in his direction. Chiru in the success meet of Mahanati confirmed project with Nag Ashwin and made clear that Ashwini Dutt will produce it. But Chiru is currently busy with Koratala Siva's project and is ready for Lucifer remake.

Though rumors of Nag Ashwin-Vijay Devarakonda project spread, it did not turn into reality. Only time will tell on Nag Ashwin's next project. In the meantime he turned producer for Naveen Polisetti, Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna's Jaati Ratnalu. The film is slated for release in the next year. Can he taste success as a producer?
